[in education] announces short-term closure to new submissions and new Gen AI policy

2026-06-30

in education Editor-in-Chief announces that new submissions to in education will be closed for a period of approximately five weeks (until August 10, 2026), effective immediately. In addition, for all new manuscripts submitted after August 10, 2026, our journal’s Generative AI policy will be in effect. See details below.

CLOSED TO NEW SUBMISSIONS: Please note that for a period of approximately five weeks, until August 10, 2026, in education will not be accepting new manuscript submissions. During this time, our journal will be operating under reduced editorial capacity. We do not wish for authors to wait an unnecessarily lengthy period for their manuscript to be read and assessed by a member of the editorial team. As a result, we have decided to temporarily close submissions, effective immediately. Manuscripts currently in the system and under review will continue to be processed as availability and time allows.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this decision may cause. We recognize, however, that this move is necessary to maintain the high degree of professionalism that has come to be associated with our journal, in education. Thank you for your ongoing support and please reach out by email if you have any questions.

GENERATIVE AI POLICY:  in education is committed to ethical, rigorous, and transparent scholarship. As Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Midjourney, DALL·E) become increasingly integrated into academic work, we recognize their potential value to support scholarly practice, but also the need for ethical, careful, and responsible use. Our newly developed Generative AI policy comes into effect as of August 10, 2026. This policy sets out our expectations for the ethical and transparent use of Generative AI in all submitted manuscripts, as well as in peer review and editorial practices. Since the landscape of Generative AI technologies continues to evolve rapidly, in education will review and revise this policy as needed. As an outcome of the policy, all newly submitted manuscripts will require that a Generative AI disclosure statement be included. The full Generative AI policy can be found on the “About the Journal” page.

Thank you for your understanding and support.
