The Future of the URJ

2023-05-27

It is with regret that we must report that the URJ will be stepping back from our current engagement with undergraduate submissions and releasing all work back to authors.

The URJ Editorial team wants to plainly and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and lack of communication around our work. In transitioning to a new board, it became more and more clear that the current organization of the group was not equipped to take on the tasks needed to do this work justice. Concerns regarding affiliations and structure of the group have not been able to be resolved, and taking responsibility by stating this clearly is the best way forward.

We appreciate all the support and engagement we’ve had as we worked to overcome our concerns, and want to once more thank you for your continued patience.

The URJ is unsure of what our next steps are, but we are collaborating with others to resolve our concerns and start again in good faith.

If you have questions or concerns, you can reach out to shae@uregina.ca.
